Sustainable Communities must offer their residents an environment that enhances their health, enjoyment and overall sense of well-being. This includes everything from safe streets to parks and playing fields to community centers and environmentally sound design. This goal complements the other four as LISC works to create communities that are good places to live, work and raise a family.
An example of how we are undertaking this goal:
Virginia LISC, in partnership with the Washington Redskins, LISC’s NFL Grassroots Program and the City of Richmond’s Parks and Recreation Department provided grants to help upgrade two little league football fields that serve more than 2,500 young athletes each year.
