Improving access to quality education
Quality education is a defining factor in any community’s ability to improve and thrive. Sustainable Communities rely on a wide range of educational and family services. A child’s success begins with a positive educational experience. Working families relay on job training and other vocational opportunities to build skills, improve income and break the cycle of poverty.
An example of how we are undertaking this goal:
Virginia LISC provided a $100,000 pre-development loan to the Petersburg Library Foundation, which is currently assembling resources to build a new facility that will serve up to 15,000 local readers each year.
